Sea Cadets Visit 2017
A few weeks ago our Chairman, Graham Waters was asked by Sub
Lieutenant Mark Flodman of the Grimsby Cleethorpes Sea Cadets if it
would be possible for a group of cadets could join some of our members
at the lake so that they could try driving some of our radio
controlled model boats.
We thought that would be a good idea and this is what happened
The date agreed was Sunday 16 July at 9.30 am
20 cadets arrived from Grimsby, Immingham, Rotherham and Barnsley
accompanied by Mark Flodman and 5 adult volunteers.
The visit was part of the Multi Action Cadet Training Weekend.
They spent about 2 hours sailing various types and sizes of boats
including a race with our clubs collection of Club 500 Power Boats.
They all enjoyed the experience with a few bumps and crashes,
fortunately there was no serious damage done.
Another task for the cadets over the weekend was they each had to
build and sail a model Put Put Boat ( you can see these in one of the
pictures)
